Through our support to organizations like Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center (GCRBC), we aim to increase the current donation rate of 37% of eligible blood donors.
According to GCRBC, here are some statistics on blood donation:
- 4.5 million Americans will a need blood transfusion each year
- Someone needs blood every two seconds
- One pint of blood can save up to three lives
- About one in seven people entering a hospital need blood
Through partnerships with established health care providers, we will work to reduce the spread of infectious diseases. Although the world has been recently dominated by the challenges provided by Covid, this will be an ongoing effort to fight Covid and any new infectious diseases.
- According to the World Health Organization (WHO) reports infectious diseases kill more than 17 million people a year. 30 new diseases have emerged in the last 20 years.
- WHO states that global immunization coverage dropped from 86% in 2019 to 83% in 2020.
- Also, WHO states that in 2020, the number of completely unvaccinated children increased by 3.4 million.
